Our garden produce is grown free from pesticides, artificial fertilisers or insecticides and is included as much as possible in our menu options. We grow salad, herbs, tomatoes, courgettes, pumpkins, aubergines, green beans, fruits of the forest, figs, apples, grapes, peaches, and olives, and keep hens for fresh eggs.
We use a raised bed, no dig system that we mulch heavily to maintain healthy moisture and nutrition levels. We tend our little haven with love and a belief that through treating it with respect and care we can leave a positive mark here. We’re very happy to cater for vegan and other dietary needs.
A substantial breakfast is included, using local produce wherever possible.
Breakfast is continental in style and is served on the house veranda, alternatively arrange to pick up your breakfast hamper to enjoy back at your yurt. Wake up to tea and coffee with hot frothy milk, warm bread rolls, homemade jams using local fruit, honey from our village, yoghurt seasonal fruit, fresh pancakes and organic muesli.
Packed lunches are available, with advance notice. These are low-level waste and packaging hampers to enjoy by the river, at the yurt, or wherever you like.
Our popular home-cooked, candlelit evening meals are served on our spacious veranda, and a chance to socialise with other guests. We use fresh local produce wherever possible, so we ask you to book your meals 48 hours ahead. We cook a set menu of the day, according to your tastes and nutritional needs.
We also have plenty of restaurant recommendations for nearby Gois and Arganil.
You are invited to mix your favorite drinks and mingle in our new "Hops Honesty Bar" on the garden terrace. Order our popular cocktails which include Caipirinhas, Mojitos and Moscow mules then lie back in a hammock and relax. Flasks of tea and coffee available upon request.
